Saoirse wasn’t available to attend Oscar Wilde: Honoring The Irish In Film which held at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre yesterday. She accepted the award by video.
Ronan – star of The Lovely Bones, and Oscar-nominated in 2008 for Atonement – was being given the Wilde Card, an inaugural award recognising a rising talent, whilst Abrams was made an Honorary Irishman.
The noted Irish actor Frank F. O’Byrne presented Saoirse Ronan with her award – who, busy young actress that she is, had to accept by video.
Here’s a video including the clips of Saoirse accepting Best Actress on stage and backstage interview from Irish Film And Television Awards. Thanks to M for the link.
